Life is full of the unexpected. It is full of hardship and difficulty and suffering. Not because God isn’t good, but because Adam and Eve’s choices plunged our world into a fallen, sinful state. God did not leave us to suffer alone or to struggle in despair! He gave His only Son to save us and through Jesus, we get to become children of God! Our Heavenly Father also gave us His very own words of encouragement and hope to carry us through any dark valley we may have to go through. And of course, the highest hope of all, is the gift of spending eternity with Him in heaven —all because Jesus bore our sins for us on that Roman cross 2000 years ago. The Bible verses shared on this page are filled with hope. May they lift you up whenever you need help fixing your eyes back on Jesus.

“For God so loved YOU, that He gave His only begotten Son….” John 3:16a
He could not have given more to prove His love for you, and NOTHING you do can ever
make Him love you more or less than He already does. The Cross of Christ never changes, though circumstances, and how loved you feel at any given moment, will.
By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. I John 4:9-10
But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly place, in Christ Jesus, in order that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.” Ephesians 2:4-7

Ephesians 3:14-19
This word know in the Greek means perceive, recognize, understand. It is the same word that Jesus used in John 17:3 “And this is eternal life, that they might know thee the only true God…” This is the same word which the Bible uses in other places to describe the most intimate relationship between a husband and wife. It describes a deep, personal knowledge one person has of another. Jesus’ heart’s desire for us is for us to have a deep and personal love relationship with Him and His Father.
Just as the Father has loved me, I have loved you; abide in My love. John 15:9
“….for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me, and have believed that I came from the Father.” John 16:27
“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things? Who will bring a charge against God’s elect? God is the one who justifies; who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, yes rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us….”
Romans 8:31-34

In Christ, Old Testament Promises of God’s Love for Israel apply to us as well.
(The Church has NOT replaced Israel in God’s eyes, but we have been grafted into her spiritually and God’s love for Her has been extended to us as well, ALL because of Christ!)

inward parts can have two meanings here: God formed our inward parts physically (which means among other important physical features, He chose to make us female) but He also created us with the emotional, intellectual, and creative capacity we each have as well as our one of a kind personalities.
skillfully wrought in the Hebrew means to variegate skillfully, ie. Driven in various ways, or to diversify in external appearance especially with different colors; dapple, enliven or give interest by means of variety.
It could also be translated embroidered or woven.
God took the time to make each of us uniquely the way He wanted us to be!
“When I consider Thy heavens, the work of Thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which Thou hast ordained;
What is man, that Thou dost take thought of him? And the son of man, that Thou dost care for him?
Yet Thou hast made him a little lower than God (Elohim in Hebrew), And dost crown him with glory and majesty!
Thou dost make him to rule over the works of Thy hands; Thou hast put all things under his feet….
O LORD, our Lord, How majestic is Thy name in all the earth!” Psalm 8:3-6
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God,

Our NEW Identity
because of Christ
Hope is given to us in many forms. One of the most important ways God has given us hope is by giving us a new identity in Jesus Christ. He has made us completely new creations. He has given us a brand-new start, where the old has passed away and the new has come! If we will renew our minds and grow into who we really are once we encounter Jesus and put our faith in Him, then we will have an abundance of hope! Knowing who we are and truly embracing our new identity in God’s Son changes everything. The following verses are ones that I have held onto for years and each holds a special place in my heart.

Forgiven
Jesus purchased your forgiveness when He died on the cross for YOUR sin and rose again for your justification, but you must put your faith in Him and receive His gift of new life. If you haven’t done that yet, then do it now!
Romans 3:23-24 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.
Romans 4:5 And to one who does not work but trusts him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is reckoned as righteousness.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

Adequate/Equipped
2 Corinthians 3:5 Not that we are adequate in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is inspired by God an profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.

Secure/Protected (God is my Defender)

Philippians 1:6 And I am sure that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 1:18-19 You know that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your fathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot.
